ABOUT COMMUNITY IMPACT

Urban neighborhoods are confronted with a wide variety of challenges that are addressed more effectively using a comprehensive approach.  In 1999, Community Impact of Chattanooga, Inc. (Community Impact) was organized to help residents of distressed urban neighborhoods in Chattanooga, Tennessee restore the health and vitality of their communities. Since then, this 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization has partnered with seven Chattanooga urban neighborhoods and other neighborhood-serving organizations to implement neighborhood revitalization and community  building strategies that have created signficant and sustainable neighborhood improvements.  Four of these neighborhoods have "graduated" from the program, and three more are currently actively engaged in an intense neighborhood transformation process.
